Stage Spotlight -
Awaken Church currently meets in Virginia Beach, VA at Cinema Café Movie Theater. Meeting at a movie theater has it's challenges. A lot of churches that meet in a theater want to create their own identity and feel and not have that movie theater feel. We took on the challenge and designed a stage setup that is durable, easy to setup and tear down, integrated lights for enhanced stage presence and most of all affordability. Awaken Church recently re-launched and wanted a new look. We designed a truss system made of PVC to keep cost down and make it easier for their volunteers. We created four separate PVC truss systems. Two on stage and two off stage.
The two on the stage were made for the sides of the movie screen to give a boxed look. They stand around 12ft high and break down into three sections per truss system. There are a total of 12 small par lights that are internally wired to keep a clean look and ability to hang their banners. By having this design, it allows the stage to have back and side lights without washing out the screen for the projected images.
The second PVC truss system were just a straight box truss that stood about 12ft high. That breaks down into two sections and wooden bases for stability. On top of each truss are two 500w par 64 cans to light up the front of the stage for the worship team and pastor. The position of the lights allow the lights to shine on stage with out washing out the screen.
